Overview
I was deeply moved by the words "Not for us alone," chiseled in stone above the entrance to the Stan Hywet mansion in Akron, Ohio. The owners, in their first Christmas card, penned these words: "Our builders all gave more than their time, they wrought with love and made a shrine." What a beautiful symmetry of ideas! The love of beauty, a desire to share, and an appreciation for those who labor. These are the very concepts that ignited my own heart over twenty five years ago in the birthing of TreHus.
We have since evolved into a premier design and remodeling company. Our experienced, knowledgeable architectural and design staff partner closely with our craftsmen and project managers.
It is our intent to make the highly complex process of remodeling a pleasant and rewarding experience. We have extensive experience in older homes where details such as "ball tipped' versus "steeple tipped" hinges contribute as much as the roof line. We also enjoy contemporary style or even expanding a ranch style home. We have produced some of the most beautiful home transformations in the Twin Cities. In the end, it is about you and how you interact with your home that is important to us.
Please take a few moments to get to know us and let us know if we can serve you.
Sincerely,
David Amundson
President and Owner of TreHus
Artisan Community
One aspect of who we are is a part of a community of artisans who serve the twin cities by practicing a trade or craft. From plumbers and electricians to woodworkers and visual artists, we want to be a resource to connect members of the artisan community to those in need of their services. The following are a few artisans you may find interesting:
Myrick Visual - Film makers with an emphasis on storytelling. They have created everything from music videos and documentaries to commercials and promotional pieces. You can see the work they did for us on our process page.
Jim Sannerud - Woodturning and woodturning instruction. Take a look at his gallery, which includes some astounding hand-carved pieces.
Kelly Marshall - Beautiful custom woven interior textiles. A client recently had Kelly Marshall weave blinds, pillows and rugs to go with their newly remodeled home, and they were all beautifully done and in the best taste.
Willie Willette Works - Custom furniture makers who design, build, and deliver. They are comfortable with any material and focus on producing the highest quality furniture, using local products whenever possible.
Kit Wilson - A Twin Cities visual artist. Three of her drawings adorn a wall in the TreHus office - artistic renderings of a nail, a screw and a bolt on colorful, matching backgrounds.
